Where the House Sleeps

Four bedrooms, eight guests, and not one of them alike. Each is dressed in its own cloth — toile and gingham, ticking stripe and hunt-scene linen — so choosing where you sleep becomes its own small pleasure.

The primary bedroom, and the most romantic: its four-poster canopy in pink ticking stripe is drawn over a floral headboard, with chintz cushions and brass sconces for reading late. Unabashedly pretty.
